The Ark_1 | You are here.

A limited series of reflections on evil's rapid rise, our spiritual response in Christ Jesus, and how to prepare for the coming storm.

The final up-to-date re-recorded version (080423) of the original is now available here. My goal hasn’t changed: I remain determined to create and produce the best, spiritually relevant material I can, and every new epi will reflect that.

Below, also as promised, is the script for ‘The Ark_1.’

Bless, M

The Ark | Chapter One | You are here

NARRATOR: Do we all agree we’re not in a holding pattern anymore?... cause we’re not. The flight we’re on is nose down and the ground is rising up to meet us and swallow us whole.

I don’t want to be the guy who says the quiet thing out loud, but I will. I’ve been waiting for this.

There’s a backstory to every journey — suffice to say my thoughts for a while have been moving toward the idea of building an ark (metaphorically speaking) … because we’re going to need one.

I saw from a distance, not unlike some of you… that we were heading toward a time when we would desperately need something to keep us afloat, above the mayhem, once malevolent global actors rose to prominence and turned against us.

Yeah. Watching. Listening. Discerning. For some of us, for me, the trajectory was inescapable.

Do you need a starting point?

Okay. It started when we, as a largely Christian society broke free from holy constraints to ride the train of carnal delights and false promises only to win pleasure's inverse, ironically– the accursed fallout of pain & heartbreak as payment for our sins.

We crawled our way through the muck of licentiousness, dumped God and the Church for being ‘too judgy,’ and carried on chasing forbidden fruit at breakneck speed, only to make ourselves sick and crazy (and now we can’t get the dirt off … or tell right from wrong).

Worse, by obeying the culture gods and normalizing sin, we opened doors that should never have been opened in the first place … and now we can’t close ‘em.

Not on our own, we can’t.

As a consequence, our problems, for which we all own shares, are catastrophic.

We see it in the carefully tailored demise of critical infrastructure and essential services, … we see it in the closing circle of disappearing freedoms; in our paralyzing fear … our unstable thoughts and scattered thinking … and in grossly stunted lifestyles reduced to self-pleasing obsession, and gorging on base urges.

We leapt at the opportunity to give ourselves whatever we could get our hands on, trading spiritual ground & treasure for passing lights and cheap perfume …

But there are no vacuums in celestial affairs, beloved.

Heaven won’t have it. It ALWAYS auto-corrects …

And so, to prove to us that He … He is unchanging … and that ALL is grace and favor - a gift, not an entitlement - God is giving us back fair reckoning as judgment for breaking faith with Him … which we damn well deserve.

We sowed the wind of disobedience, desecrating ourselves and each other … ripping down the ceiling of Divine protection while calling the demons of our vices and afflictions IN … and now that they’re here (pause), well, it’s the whirlwind, isn't it? … for all of us.

How close are we? Just distant enough to pull ourselves back from the brink by the grace of God. Just.

Which is where ‘The Ark’ comes in, and why – not coincidentally – you are here.

‘In the world you will have trouble, Jesus says, but fear not for I have overcome the world’ [John 16:33].

He also said ‘apart from me you can do nothing’ [John 15:5].
