Hello Everyone,
JUST A BIT of housekeeping.
Right, so going forward I’ve decided to use Substack as a kind of temporary ferry service between ship and shore. The reason? Our vision for REDPIN is shaping up to be a little different than what Substack offers. To be fair, Substack has done a great job allowing bits of talent & insight that used to die unripened on the Twitter vine to blow up into full-sized fruit here, which is damn fine.
But some things we miss out on — like paid subscriptions — which is the core business and key benefit of Substack.
Why do we miss out?
It’s mainly because Twitter (as a feeder channel) is more constricting than ever. Few of my posts manage more than a couple of likes each these days. My follower trend is also downward. Altogether, too much content to go around married to increased censorship (I can almost feel Elon sitting on my chest, lol) makes carving out a niche only possible with open access to readers, listeners, and viewers; all of which I am notably deprived of.
And that means building an audience won’t be easy.
We believe developing a more branded site with additional user options is the way to go but it’s going to take time. For now, we’ll continue to release on Subby and hope for the best. In the meantime, if you can, please help spread the word and the love.
In Him,
OR
