REDPIN IS NOT Alt-Right News. Redpin isn’t news.
The vision of Redpin is to build up Christ in each of us to win the spiritual war against the Enemy of our soul.
TIME FOR A little housekeeping, I think, to make room for the mission of Redpin. While this letter is more a mish-mash of thoughts I wanted to get out of my system than a manifesto (coming soon), my intent here is to move us forward — Pharaoh at our backs, Red Sea just ahead.
For starters, my Twitter name is not my real name :)
How I arrived at that particular word pairing isn’t drawn from some mysterious origin story, the pearl of legend (sadly). Nope, like most things, the answer is pretty mundane.
Here’s what happened:
After being kicked off Twitter for daring to suggest that spike proteins from the vaccine got to the brain, I tried climbing back on the platform only to find that my name, phone number, and IP address were red-flagged. So, I set up a new account via VPN, and when prompted to fill in the name blank smashed together the first couple of words that came to mind (and sounded cool) without tracing back to me, and voilà — Obsidian Rex was born.
The thing about OR as opposed to Redpin is that my magic handle is my personal vent; whereas, Redpin is more about us than me as you will shortly see.
As a concept, it represents my informed belief that each & every one of us is a powerful gift of Divine promise just waiting to be opened, and that encountering Christ more fully can & will change the terrible imbalance of things in a big way with the right direction. We’ve incorporated the tagline — ‘You Are Here’ — because being properly present to God in your life is where it all begins.
Turning the page …
In late 2019 I felt the turn or a seismic shift in the spirit announced by whatever was rising in Wuhan. Like a storm-chaser, I was drawn to the glimmer in the distance, and because I immediately grasped its diabolical premise and where it might lead, I assumed the role of Watchman, determined to remain close enough to learn what was really going on.
Was it really all a giant Globalist plot from the beginning?
While it was a little opaque at first, I knew enough about the things of God/not-God to recognize early on that Wuhan/COVID signified the launch of darker & more sinister times with a heavy downward trajectory … something hinted at to me years earlier in fact:
It happened in 2013, on a beautiful desert day, apropos of seemingly nothing at the time.
I was living in Jordan (Kingdom of) at the edge of a small town a short distance from Mt. Nebo, overlooking Jericho and the Dead Sea. I was in my apartment standing at the table that doubled as my desk when out of the blue a voice inside of me spoke, saying,
‘The end of the beginning is now over, the beginning of the end is here.’
It stopped me in my tracks as you might imagine, the voice warm & familiar resonating inside the deepest part of me; the words clear and cryptic yet and without any context at the time to hang it on.
It came and went. A finished statement with huge implications that remains with me. Something that would become clearer down the road.
Starting in late 2019.
And now, this …
Alt-News Media (anything Right of the MSM) and citizen journos who saw in the crisis a financial opportunity to do ‘good’ and get paid for it, grabbed our attention placing it on themselves. They peddled outrage and stoked the flames of our discontent, chaining us to their output, without pushing us on or letting us go.
THE FEEDBACK LOOP that is Twitter; the feedback loop that is the Conservative Media train … all of it works together to keep us coming back to the same sources and the same place for the same experience.
While I understand the fascination we share for conspiracy facts given all we’re going through, on the other hand, I also believe a steady diet of Twitter as the flex point of so much information obstructs our ability to see the larger picture. At best, it’s a win-lose proposition where the losses ultimately outweigh the wins or gains, in my opinion.
Let me explain.
It’s the nature of capitalism to build a solid customer base, and once you have it, to hang on for dear life. Income is everything. The problem with this, when applied to our current setting and all the various Alt-News orgs and individuals who thrive on Leftist sins, is that those vying for your attention also want your support.
As a result, what starts out as a necessary, even crucial response to political censorship can morph into a self-reinforcing template of content/fundraising that can in fact work directly against our best interests.
Effective, loyalty-based marketing in a time of protracted crisis, is what it is. Alt-News journos cover real news rejected by the MSM with the added feint (Twitter’s role) of making us believe the lie that we are all a part of the broader discussion, and for which all they really want from us in return for their devoted service is our time and money.
Which at ground level seems reasonable enough, but seen from a more discerning height can look a bit grifty. Especially now.
Moreover, the cumulative impact of countless entities firing all of that news & information at us in a never-ending torrent of here, take a sip from the firehose is to pummel our senses, neutralize fight & flight, and effectively glue us to our chairs.
I think you know what I mean.
Thing is, we don’t need more bad news and more commentary on more bad news (Note to Media: Yeah, the black hats are consummate devils, we get it). What we really need right now are solution-driven outflows capable of stopping these thieves and murderers from destroying our families, our freedoms, our future, and our world.
Should the Conservative-leaning, Alt-News Media shoulder at least some of the blame for trapping us inside their business model?
Yeah, I think so. But at the same time, these are uncharted waters and many of us who are normally smart enough to know better are dazed & confused by the endless stimuli hammering away at out poor beleaguered brains (too much so to engage in any real evaluation of what does and doesn't work). But, yes, there’s a very good reason why these content pros keep us swimming in circles and the pin in the grenade:
We pay them to keep it there.
Lastly (and I won’t win any hearts for saying this), the failure to address our monsters sooner also falls on us. No, not the jabbed, but those of us who publicly adhere to the truth while privately sticking our heads in the sand. Crazy as it is to say, it’s still too easy to remain safe and relatively cosy under mortal threat for the time being. Instant access, the felt urgency of the Twitter feed, and our bad habits all contribute to fooling us into thinking we’re actually making a difference when the net effect is to make some richer and the rest of us poorer and stuck in the mud, playing hidey-hole behind our screens.
It’s time, beloved, to jettison any extra baggage and get moving. Time, like the evil we’re up against, waits for no man.

I like the ideas you represent in my name choices :) I do choose my names carefully but don't delve as deeply into meanings beyond what feels right. I can say that obsidian is also a sacred element used against evil by the Navaho nation; while my Dad's favorite colors (really our family colors) are red & black. Lots to discuss at some point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your comments Mouse. Much appreciated.

So true. There’s just so much information coming at you so hard and fast with an urgency that is unrelenting. I started on social media to spread truthful information that we weren’t getting from the media. Man did that snowball out of control. Now everyone is doing the same thing but not really anything else. I haven’t fallen into the trap of supporting a lot of people, only two in fact. You’re one. I’ve learned to select people I want read & have notifications set. I do have to resist looking for other news. Your point is well taken, my prayer life has suffered since I rejoined Twitter. My aim was to slowly introduce scripture and hopefully find likeminded people. It has really sucked me in and I’ve started limiting my time there. I do want to be a voice that glorifies His Name but I don’t think I will ever be heard in the mind numbing noise on Twitter.
