A makeover of the original.
I’M BACK AND feeling better, thank-you. I was out for weeks with a cranky borderline pneumonia that also blew my voice out, and yet I did manage to squeeze out a fresh Redpin Annex episode, ‘O CANADA’ (coming soon).
Speaking of being Canadian, a devout believer, and me, you can expect my take on living in the Great White North (is that racist?) to be critical though not cruel: a bit of a dirge as life here seems to drift inevitably towards the water’s edge.
(Below, what it sounds like when I say ‘dirge.’)
That brilliant little segment of the Thomas Newman Score for Skyfall is exactly how it feels to be parked inside the fading light in the darkening gloom as Canada sinks further under the heel of those committed to its destruction (save for the recent Million Person March in Ottawa to defend children against LBGTQ indoctrination in schools; our only recent glimmer of hope, really).
Important as hell, Mr. Peterson might respond to that act of family defense and civic heroism, and yet we don’t seem willing to die on a similar hill for the rest of us for some reason. We’ll fight the tempest in the teapot, as a friend pointed out, but not those who forge the teapot and conjure the storm within.
And to be clear it’s not for lack of truth, beloved, that we flee the crime scene and duck under our beds; we are not without the telling signs, in other words. In fact, only those completely closed off from reality could fail to miss life’s gradual collapse around us everywhere we turn.
And what is this thing we blind ourselves to?
A general answer alert to rapidly shifting spiritual paradigms and the commingling of realms no longer separated by moral boundaries or the protective barrier put in place by God subject to our faithfulness might speculate as this being evil’s last hurrah intent on smashing it all to smithereens; everything, every last bit of it, including you and me and everyone we love (there’s more to it but this isn’t the place).
For the life of me, I still can’t believe the vast majority continue to choose apathy in response to the greatest threat facing the world, likely ever. But then most went out and got vaccinated, didn't they?
Repeatedly.
So, no more qualms.
No more shyness or fear of speaking out privately or publicly and drawing the ire of those desperately invested in prevailing lies and their own wishful thinking all because the alternative (that they’re dead wrong about everything) isn't something they can live with.
And, while I hesitate to lump all of them in the same pile (as they did to us), I continue to ask myself, what will it take for a real & sustained awakening greater than our paralyzing fears?
I for one won’t go quietly. I didn’t come this far to sit around the barby waiting for the Devil to show up and clean our plates. And if you subscribe to my way of thinking, neither did you.
In the meantime, steaming at the death of the once indomitable human spirit now only here for a good time, I continue to pray for the wind in your wings and mine.
So, hang in there you tiny prize of red-pinnerz, you, cuz more is on the way.
.30.
God always gets the last word, thankfully. Resist the enemy and he will flee you, God says. Whatever else, Christ is near and getting closer all the time. We need to remind each other to hold fast to our crowns!
I applaud your efforts to awaken and spur to action. I pray that people respond. The hour is very near when we won’t have the option to fight, when the decisions are made for us and we put our head between our legs and kiss our asses goodbye. Surely there’s a better way.
